The master of light, Joaquín Sorolla, now has an eponymous room in the Museum of Fine Arts of Valencia, Spain’s second largest art gallery after the Prado. This room houses more than 40 works by the Valencian painter, covering a period spanning from his first to his last paintings. The museum, also know as the Museum of Fine Arts San Pío V, houses one of the country’s largest collections of gothic altarpieces, as well as works by Velázquez, Goya, El Greco, Bosch and the Valencians Juan de Juanes, Ignacio Pinazo and José Benlliure.
